Guest Bio

Dr. James Merrick is the Director of Emmaus Academic and Director of Clergy Support for the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. He is also a Lecturer at Franciscan University of Steubenville. A convert to the Church, he completed a Master of Arts in Biblical and Systematic Theology and a Master of Theology in Church History at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Under the supervision of Professor John Webster, he attained his PhD in Dogmatic Theology from King’s College, University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Before entering the Church in 2017, he served as an Episcopalian priest for a decade in the US and the UK. He has taught theology at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels on both coasts of the U.S. He writes for the National Catholic Register, Angelus News, and Ascension Press.
